A first of its kind in the city, where bloggers meet the crew of a Tollywood movie and have a discussion, meetup or adda.
Baari Tar Bangla is a more comedy less serious movie, but with a complicated issue. It is a story on how a man of 40, Roopchhand (Saswata Cheterjee) one day realizes that he forgot to write Bengali, his mother tongue and a language on which he had a strong hold. Even after sitting for hours with a pen and a notebook, he could not scribble down a single word in Bengali. Determined to resolve the problem he lands up to a psychiatrist (Raima Sen), but the medical tests done was in vain, though later it does turn out to be a psychological problem. His mother was his constant support and kept him under her watch always, so much so that while giving a job interview his mother went along with him.
The movie is fun all through because of the catchy one liners by the director Rangan Chakravarty which is his speciality, it even had some perverted meanings. The most catchy were “Prothome chumuk diye, tarpor chosha; halka kamor diye, praan bhore thosha.“(Firstly with a sip, then comes sucking; with a slight bite and all your pushing) and and advertisment like “A.B. Das er Rosogolla, tipe niye, chushe khan“(A.B.Das’s sweetdish, after pressing eat while sucking.)
The program was a Blogger engagement program with the Kolkata Bloggers, Web team of Baari Tar Bangla and Google. We had Mr. Mukut Chakraborty from Google to control the entire session which was streaming live on Google Hangout and there were about 250 people logging in and even questions were asked online.
There were about ten Bloggers asking all sorts of questions and most being male even discussions about saris were held. The crew even shared some of their experience during the shoot and described the building where the movie was shot, how the hospitality of the resident of that place mesmerized them, how the producer had to run errand to get baby dresses but of the size of an adult, how they shot eleven sequences in a single day making it tiresome to the core for everyone especially the actress, Raima Sen. Questions were asked by the bloggers like why particularly Saswata Cheterjee was chosen to do the role, whether it was based on someone’s autobiography, which was the best role he did till date according to Saswata Chaterjee and so on.
The secret that Saswata Cheterjee is not allowed to look into Raima Sen’s eyes while acting together irrespective of it being a romantic scene. He either has to look to Raima Sen’s head or ear or shoulder or anywhere but her eyes was revealed and the expressions made by Saswata Chaterjee was indeed hilarious.
The serious time.
Raima Sen and Saswata Chaterjee both loved this bloggers engagement and encouraged to organize more such meets and as per Raima Sen, it would be helpful for them as they to get to know the public psych.
The lineup follows Mr. Mukut Chakraborty(Google), Mr. Rangan Chakravarty(Director), Ms. Raima Sen(Actor), Mr.Saswata Chaterjee(Actor), Mr. Satrajit Sen(Tripod ent.), Mr. Rajib Bhadra(Tripod ent.)
