Vintage Car Rolls Royes

After several tries, I finally woke up at 5:30 am on the chilly 19th January to visit The Statesman Vintage and Classic Car Rally, 2014. It was dark outside and I called up my elder brother for the further proceedings. Everything being on a positive note we reached the place well ahead of time. Several brightly colored, gorgeous vintage cars made their way into the enclosure slowly maintaining their royalty. Each passing car astounded us with their beauty and we started following them like the rats of the ‘Pied-Piper’. The enclosure was filled with about 130 prized possessions, their proud owners, countless photographers and viewers. This rally somewhat gave us the scenario of the time of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers. The owners with their hats with big flowers, long leather boots, smoking pipes, dazzling dresses and the traditional ‘Benarasi’ and ‘Dhoti-Punjabi’, dashed their zamindari attitude. The Mercedeses, Fords, Austins, Chevrolets, Fiats, Pontiacs, Cadillacs and Rolls Royces treated our eyes with such bright colors and gorgeous cut. This being my first time, I felt a bit ill at ease to photograph among the swarm of photographers who almost bumped into the cars or their owners, jostling and creating a havoc. Well, yes my discomfort was reduced when i again met my inspiring and worderful seniors, Anirban Saha, Sayon Kumar Saha, Aishwarya Das, Zishan Asad, Koustav Ghosh and Anirban Chaterjee. This was also a small weekend meetup of the “Meetup Group“, where many school and college students submit their photographs and learn from each others works. Some photographs are shared below
